Arrival to Gastein - Dorfgastein
ARRIVAL BY CAR
- Coming from / via Munich approx. 2 hours
- Coming from / via Salzburg approx. 1 hour: Tauernautobahn motorway south towards Bischofshofen, exit Gasteinertal, Bundesstraße 167 to Dorfgastein.
- Coming from / via Innsbruck approx. 2 hours: motorway via Wörgl, Bundesstraße 312 via St. Johann/Tyrol until Lofer, Bundesstraße 311 Via Zell am See until Lend, Bundesstraße 167 until Gastein or motorway - Kufstein - Salzburg - Villach, exit Gasteinertal, Bundesstraße 167 to Dorfgastein.
- Coming from the south, drive via Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz and comfortably reach Gastein from there via the motorail. The Tauernschleuse railway drives from Mallnitz to Böckstein in Gastein every 60 minutes (and every 30 minutes in the summer on the main travel days).
ARRIVING BY RAILWAY
- Timetables of the Austrian Federal railway are available at the Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein station and contain Euro- and Intercity trains, fast and express trains, however not all are offered at the Dorfgastein station. There are regular taxi and bus connections to the individual parts of the town. The next car-rail loading point is located at Bischofshofen. A pickup and drop-off service by taxis takes care of the luggage transfer.
ARRIVAL BY AEROPLANE
- The closest airports are Salzburg (approx. 70km) and Munich (approx. 200km). We will gladly organise a transfer from the airport to Dorfgastein – please inquire in advance.
